Capacitor Discharge Unit, Peco PL-35

The PECO PL-35 Capacitor Discharge Unit is designed to ensure reliable operation of railway turnouts equipped with solenoid point motors.

The unit stores electrical energy in its capacitors and, when the turnout is switched, releases it to the point motor as a short, powerful pulse. This ensures that the turnout blades move firmly into the required position and reduces the risk of incomplete switching.

In addition, the unit limits the duration of the high-current load on the solenoid motor coils, helping to reduce the risk of overheating.

A single PL-35 unit can be used to operate multiple turnouts on a model railway layout.

Compatible with solenoid point motors, including the PECO PL-10 and PL-11. Connects to a 16 V AC power supply.
