Electric Locomotive BR 144.5 DB, Roco 7500147, H0
The class E 44.5 locomotive (originally designated E 44.1) was developed based on the experimental E 44 101 and designed for operation on mountainous routes. Locomotive 144 507 belongs to the second production series with more powerful traction motors and an extended frame. In the 1970s, the locomotives were modernized with standardized DB headlights and new pantographs. The Salzburg – Freilassing – Berchtesgaden line remained their primary area of operation for around 50 years. Three locomotives of this class have been preserved to this day as museum exhibits.
