Electric Locomotive BR 244 DR, with sound, Roco 7510079, H0
Electric locomotives of the E 44 series were built from 1932 to 1954, with nearly 200 units put into service. After the end of World War II in May 1945, the locomotives operating on the electrified network of central Germany were handed over to the USSR as war reparations following the suspension of electric operations.
In 1952, the GDR was able to repurchase most of these machines. At the RAW Dessau repair works, 46 locomotives were refurbished and returned to service starting in 1955.
Between 1961 and 1964, the Deutsche Reichsbahn equipped the locomotives with RBS 58 pantographs with double contact points, allowing the locomotives to operate with only one pantograph raised.
Model Features:
- Version with RBS 58 pantograph
- Separately attached windshield wipers
- Clear view through the driver’s cab
- Wheelsets with low flanges
- In digital operation, the cab and engine compartment lighting can be switched
