Steam Locomotive 95 1027, DR, Roco 71097, H0
Steam locomotive 95 1027-2 of the German State Railways (Deutsche Reichsbahn, DR) from the VI era.
This model recreates the legendary ‘Queen of the Mountains’ (Bergkönigin), manufactured by Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG (HANOMAG) in 1923.
With a power output of 1,620 hp, the 95 series locomotives were the most powerful tank locomotives ever purchased by Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft.
Until 1982, 95 027 operated on the steepest mountain routes in Germany.
From 1950 to 1969, it was assigned to the Blankenburg depot and ran on the Rübelandbahn in the Harz Mountains.
In 1971, the locomotive was converted to oil-fired heating, and in 1982 it was returned to coal-fired heating and included in the traditional DR locomotive fleet.
After being restored at the Mainingen plant in 2010, the locomotive was put back into service on tourist routes in the Harz Mountains.
The model is characterised by a high level of detail with many individually mounted elements, free-standing boiler tubes and thin wheel spokes.
The length between the buffers is 174 mm. The minimum turning radius is 358 mm.
The model is equipped with a NEM 362 shaft with short clutch kinematics.
