Diesel Locomotive
The history of the M62, known in Hungary as “Szergej”, began in 1965 with the delivery of the world’s first locomotive from the Lugansk factory (M62 001). A further 288 locomotives were delivered to MÁV, 15 of them in a broad-gauge version.
These locomotives took over heavy freight services and led to an early retirement of older steam locomotive classes. Even today, some of these robust machines remain in active service.
Features of the model:
- Fully detailed brake air lines with complete air reservoirs
- Highly authentic reproduction of the bogies
- Separately attached shunter’s handrails below the buffers
